On August 29, CQC issued a notice on the implementation of the new version of the standard for compulsory certification of plug and socket products. According to the requirements of the announcement, GB 2099.2-1997 will be replaced by GB 2099.2-2012 Plugs and Sockets for Household and Similar Purposes Part 2: Special Requirements for Appliance Sockets as of December 1, 2013. The general standard used together with GB 2099.2-2012 is GB 2099.1-2008.
According to the requirements of the announcement, from August 29, 2013 to December 1, 2013, the applicant can voluntarily choose to apply for certification according to the new version or the old version of the standard; Since December 1, 2013, the new version of the standard shall be adopted for certification and the certificate of the new version of the standard shall be issued. For appliance socket products that have obtained compulsory certification according to the old version of the standard, the certification client shall submit an application for conversion of the new version of the standard product certification certificate from the date of this resolution and before the next follow-up inspection, and send samples for inspection of the new and old version of the standard difference test items. After passing the test, a new version of the standard product certificate shall be issued. The conversion of the old standard certification certificate shall be completed before December 1, 2014. CQC will suspend the certification certificate that has not completed the conversion within the time limit, and revoke the certificate that has not completed the conversion on February 28, 2015.
