On August 23, 2013, the European Electrotechnical Standardization Commission (CENELEC) issued the latest information technology equipment safety standard EN 60950-1:2006, the second addendum A2:2013. This addendum modifies EN 60950-1:2006, its first addendum A1:2010 and the twelfth addendum A12:2011. The old version was withdrawn on July 2, 2016.

    The EN 60950-1:2006/A2:2013 issued this time adopts the contents of the international standard IEC 60950-1:2005/A2:2013, and also includes the joint revision of IEC 60950-1:2005/A2:2013, which corresponds to the European reference standards of international standards and special national conditions.

    In order to meet the requirements of the new standard, manufacturers of information technology and office equipment exported to Europe should make existing products and new products developed in the future meet the requirements of the new standard as soon as possible.
