Further information on EN 71-3:2013 has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union. This means that from July 20, 2013, toy products conforming to EN 71-3:2013 will be assumed to comply with the specific chemical element migration requirements of EU Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC.
As we mentioned in the previous bulletin, EN 71-3:2013 has included the latest barium migration limit, which is lower than the limit originally published in the Toy Directive. In order to solve this temporary difference, before the deadline of July 20, the EU revised the Toys Directive by enacting Regulation (EU) No 681/2013.
